OPEN RACK VAPORIZER(shorten as ORV)is a vaporizer which takes sea water as heat source to vaporize LNG; It is used for LNG accepting station, the largest LNG flow rate be dealt with is ~200t/h.
It is a typical higher flow LNG vaporizer. The seawater enters the top of the vaporizer and is runs over the aluminum tubes. The LNG flows up and is converts from a liquid into a gas. The benefit of using heat from the seawater is that this energy is for free and there is no further CO2emission for re-gasifying the LNG. The water is gathered in the basin at the bottom of the vaporizer tubes before being returned to the sea.
Since 2011, SASPG is doing nationalization study & development on ORV in the aspects of flow& heat transfer, structure, material, and manufacturing process etc.
Advantages
1. Take sea water as heat medium
2. Treating capacity is large, and running on a base load. Capacity can be adjusted from 0~100% load range according to different requirements and the operation is safe.
3. Broadly used for LNG accepting station
Process Flow
The main part of the ORV is the heat transfer panels, consisting of the high-performance heat transfer tubes made of aluminum alloy.
